WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's basketball team completed its non-league slate Monday afternoon with a 61-58 home victory over DeSales.

Malik Jordan calmly swished a fallaway jumper with 4.5 seconds to play to push Shenandoah (3-10) past DeSales (11-3).

Jordan's baseline five-footer capped a contest in which the two teams traded the lead seven times and were tied on two additional occasions.
The Hornets, who snapped a seven-game losing streak with the victory, let by as much as 13 points and held the lead for 29:28 of the contest but needed Jordan's heroics as the Bulldogs rallied back to take a lead.
With SU holding its largest lead of the second half, six points, with 8:24 remaining, DeSales scored six straight points in 4:54 to knot the contest at 55-55 with 3:30 left.
From this point on, the two teams traded the lead three times until Jordan canned the game-winner with 4.5 showing on the clock.
The Bulldogs then took their final time-out and Shenandoah made them pay, with Jordan stealing the ensuing inbounds pass and being fouled with 3.5 seconds left. Jordan, who led all scorers with 16 points, hit both attempts from the line to seal the victory for Coach
Nick Doyle's club.
SU, which went to the line just eight times in the game, hit all eight to help earn the victory. DeSales was 17 of 22 from the charity stripe.
Shenandoah shot 47 percent for the game (24 of 51) with the Bulldogs shooting 36 percent (19 of 53). DeSales was 0 for 11 from beyond the arc in the second half and started that stanza by missing nine of its initial 10 shots from the field.
Davion Roberts backed up Jordan with 13 points.
DeSales had a 33-30 edge on the glass.
