Indoor Track Wraps at ODAC Championships

Miles Moore Wins 200 Meter Title

SALEM, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's and women's indoor track & field teams earned one more ODAC individual title Sunday as the 2023 ODAC Indoor Championships drew to a close.
 
The SU men, with 61 points, finished sixth in their event while the Hornet women were seventh with 35 points.
 
IN BRIEF
Lynchburg won both the men's and women's team titles with 169 and 181 points, respectively. Bridgewater was second in the men's championship and Washington & Lee in the women's.
 
SU finished 3.5 points behind Roanoke in the men's championship and 13.5 points back of Virginia Wesleyan in the women's.
 
MEN'S RECAP
Senior Miles Moore earned the third individual title of the meet for the Hornets (after Tucker Kindig and Kiara Felston won the men's and women's weight throws, respectively, Saturday) by ripping off an ODAC Championship Meet record 22.02 seconds in the 200 meters.
 
Andre Jackson was eighth in that with a 22.70 to back up Moore.
 
The men had a pair of runner-up finishes Sunday – William Crowder in the 60 meters and Elias McGhie in the 800. Crowder had a program-record 6.86 and McGhie a 1:56.50.
 
Jackson was sixth and Moore seventh in the 60 to give the Hornets three place-winners.
 
Kindig completed his meet with a seventh place showing in the shot put thanks to a 13.68 meter toss.
 
The men's final place-winner was the 4 x 400 meter relay team of McGhie, Matthew Klocke, Noah Eglin, and Noah Hurd. They were fifth with a 3:28.47.
 
WOMEN'S RECAP
The women had five additional place-winners Sunday after posting one championship and three total All-ODAC performances Saturday.
 
Katya Hoover was sixth in the shot put with an 11.30 meter toss on the fifth of her six attempts. Andrea Decker was eighth in the same event.
 
Madeline Lotts and Erin Atkinson went 7-8 in the 3000 meters at 10:43.78 and 10:44.44, respectively.
 
The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Alexis Hubbard, Mackenzie Plowman, Emma Nicely, and Sarah Sidoro finished seventh at 4:18.57 to round out the place-winning performances.
 
UP NEXT
The Hornets host the annual South Region Final Qualifier Friday and Saturday on the Kaye and JJ Smith Track in the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center.
