Harrower and Thrush Set Records at Widener Meet

PHILADELPHIA - School records by Makenna Thrush and Ethan Harrower highlighted an eventful weekend for the Shenandoah University indoor track and field teams at Widener Indoor Classic.

Thrush broke the school record for the women's one mile with a time of 5:07.53 which breaks the previous time by two seconds, which Thursh held herself. Harrower broke his record in the men's 3,000m at 8:50.98, which set the record by just under three seconds.

William Crowder moved into third all-time for the SU men with his time of 22.26 seconds in the 200m. Jaimir Bailey jumped 12.75m in the triple jump to move into sixth place all-time while Caleb Beiswenger also moved up in the men's top 10 for his performance in the 3,000m.

Along with her school record, Thrush also moved into sixth all-time for the 800m with a mark of 2:25.91. Mackenzie Plowman also slid up in the school record book in the same event with her finish of 2:22.97.

Madeline Lotts and Kailey Lamont, competing in the women's one mile, earned fifth and tenth place all-time, respectively, with times of 5:21.61 and 5:26.70.

Alexis Hubbard set a personal record in the women's 400m to move into fourth all-time after crossing the finish line at 1:01.14. Hubbard's previous best was 1:03.48.

Other PRs on the day included Cora Helman, Sarah Lane, and Lauren Tooman all in the women's 3,000m with the addition of Kyle Corpin in the men's 800m.

The women's 4x400m relay, Thrush in the one mile, and Crowder in the 60m dash and 200m, all had top 10 finishes during the meet.

To this part of the season, the Hornets have set seven school records and 171 PRs.

Shenandoah competes at the ODAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in two weeks, hosted at Roanoke College.
