Crowder and Women's DMR Earn All-ODAC Accolades at ODAC Championships

SALEM, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's indoor track and field team placed fifth in the ODAC Championships while the men's team came in eighth following the conclusion of the championships on Sunday.

William Crowder earned Second Team All-ODAC honors with a 6.85-second performance in the men's 60m dash finals. The women's DMR team, who competed in Saturday's action, took home Third Team All-ODAC with their championship mark of 13:09.98.

In one of the final events of the day, Makenna Thrush set a school record in the women's 3,000m at 10:23.86. Thrush placed sixth in the event, earning points for the women's team. Thrush, along with Kailey Lamont, placed inside the top eight in the women's one mile as well. Lamont's time of 5:13.90 set a new personal record and gave her the second-best time in program history.

Alexis Hubbard earned sixth in the women's 400m, finishing at 1:00.68 which is the third-best all-time for the SU women. Janelle Anderson, who qualified for the 60m dash finals yesterday, returned to the track today and placed sixth in the finals with a time of 8.05 seconds.

In the men's 800m, Nathan Lee is now eighth place all-time for the Hornets after placing eighth at the championship by crossing the finish line at 2:00.92. Kyle Corpin narrowly missed out on team points in the event after finishing nearly half a second after Lee. Lee and Corpin joined Wyatt Newcome and Jaimir Bailey in the 4x400m relay, as the four finished in eighth at 3:33.57.

The women also earned team points in their 800m as Mackenzie Plowman finished in fifth. Plowman, Lamont, Hubbard, and Grace Semow ran as a team together in the women's 4x400m relay and placed fifth following their 4:16.37 performance.

Jaimir Bailey is now sixth all-time in the men's triple jump for the Hornets. Bailey hit 12.85m in the field event, placing eighth.

The SU women wrapped up the indoor championships with 44 team points with the men claiming 19 points. Washington and Lee won the women's championship, and Lynchburg took home the trophy for the men.

UP NEXT

Shenandoah hosts the South Region Final Qualifier next weekend on Friday and Saturday as the Hornets continue with one final push towards nationals.
