GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Shenandoah University men's basketball team scored its most points in six years in a 104-97 ODAC victory at Guilford College on Friday.

Dorian Davis scored a career-high 30 points to lead the Hornets (9-8, 2-6 ODAC), while Isaiah Lee scored 23 points off the bench to help the team to their first-ever win on the road against the Quakers (9-8, 3-5).

RECAP

Guilford grabbed the lead first, but consecutive buckets in the paint by Joseph Baldwin helped the Hornets gain a 17-16 lead. The Quakers flipped the score back in their favor, with Baldwin once again finding space in the paint to push it back in the Hornets' favor. However, at the halfway point of the half, Guilford led 29-23.

Lee made two three-pointers to keep the Hornets within reach, with Davis then adding one of his own to make it a one-possession game. With six minutes left in the opening half, SU only trailed by one, thanks to free throws from Davis and John Allen. The Quakers then went on an 11-0 run to give them a double-digit lead, 49-37.

In the final minute of the half, the Hornets held the Quakers scoreless, and Ellis Wright and Matthew Simmons to cut the SU deficit to five by halftime. The second half started with Wright adding the first seven points forthe Hornets, once again making it a one-point game.

Seven minutes into the second, Lee converted a three-pointer, which tied the game at 66, and kick-started a 13-0 run for SU. The streak allowed Shenandoah to take a 10-point lead with 10 minutes remaining.

Guilford fought back and made it a one-score game with 2:32 remaining. Wright then hit two more free throws for SU, but Guilford hit a three-pointer on the next trip down the court to tie the game, 95-95, before grabbing a 97-96 lead.

Across the final 40 seconds, Shenandoah was sent to the free-throw line four separate times, and made eight straight shots from the line to secure the lead and the win. The Hornets ended the game shooting 82.9 percent from the line.
