Women's Lacrosse Sweeps ODAC Weekly Awards

FOREST, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team swept ODAC Player of the Week awards this week, as Ayla Jantz won the league's Offensive Player of the Week and Addison Harmel earning the award on the defensive side of the ball.

Shenandoah went 2-0 this week with a pair of ODAC home wins versus Bridgewater Collge and Randolph-Macon College.

Jantz scored 10 goals and added an assist for an 11 point week, along with six draw controls. Her week kicked off with a six goal game versus the Eagles and secured five draw controls. Then on Friday against the Yellow Jackets, the attacker added four more goals and an assist to her resume. Additionally, Jantz scored both of the team's game-winning goals this week.

For Harmel, the midfielder had seven caused turnovers and five groundballs in the two games. Against the Eagles, Harmel had five caused turnovers and four ground balls, while also scoring three goals and an assist. Then versus the Yellow Jackets, the sophomore had two caused turnovers in the second half, helping SU secure the win.

Shenandoah heads to nationally-ranked Washington and Lee University on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. ODAC game.
